SEYPEC renews its cooperation with STA

The Seychelles Petroleum Company Limited, has today renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with the Seychelles Training Academy (STA) for another 2 years to establish and develop academic exchange and co-operation in human resources development and capacity building within these two organisations.

This cooperation takes the form of teaching, training, research and health and safety inspection services.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, SEYPEC’s Chief Executive Officer, Conrad Benoiton said “This intensive programme with the STA is a salient part of our continued desire to upgrade our competencies either on our on-shore facilities or on board our tankers. The expertise of the STA in specific fields is a precious support in our quest to develop our staff members in their respective jobs. This agreement also provides us with local and recognised know-how without which we would have otherwise been forced to source overseas” He added.

Among other areas of collaboration mentioned in the MoU, SEYPEC pledges to facilitate trainee placement or internship for STA students. The training academy also carries out regular health and safety inspection on board SEYPEC’s locally-based vessels.

For his part, the STA’s Chief Executive Officer, Flavien Joubert, said “SEYPEC and STA have been in partnership for some time now and the outcome is more than satisfactory .On the one hand, our students are gratefully offered the possibility of  valuable introductory skills needed to launch their careers. SEYPEC is a most feasible partner as we have witnessed up to now because of the high degree of professionalism of its staff and it rigorous management principles which yield prominent results. We are proud to a partner of one of the largest corporate bodies in Seychelles.” Mr Joubert said.

This corporate partnership between SEYPEC and STA is now well founded and both institutions are committed to go to the next level with the renewal of this MoU.
