Installation of Single Direction Barriers improves safety and flow of traffic at Grand Anse Mahe Service Station

Seychelles Petroleum Company Limited (SEYPEC) will be installing a new safety feature at Grand Anse Mahe Service Station, which is set to improve the flow of traffic at the exit of the service station. The new Single Direction Barriers will be installed at the exit of the station on Tuesday 2nd August 2016 and will be operational on the same day. The new Single Direction Barriers are expected to control traffic flow in one direction and disable tyres travelling in the wrong direction, hence motorists are being advised to ensure they make proper use of the designated entrance and exit at the station to avoid any damages to their vehicles. SEYPEC will not be responsible for any damages that may be caused to vehicles due to customer’s negligence or misuse of the Service Station. The decision to install the new barriers, comes following numerous complaints and misuse of the main entrance and exit of the Service Station often causing accidents and traffic congestion. Prior to the installation of the of the new Single Direction Barriers, SEYPEC has been in consultation with all relevant agencies including Seychelles Land Transport, District Authorities, and Ministry of Land Use and Housing. New additional signs have been installed at the Grand Anse Service station to reinforce existing Entrance and Exit signs to ensure customers are well informed as to where to enter and exit the station. With greater emphasis on standards and safety, SEYPEC is reminding all customers using the service stations to observe all safety signs and regulations in place for their own safety and that of their fellow citizens.
