SEYPEC strengthens its partnership with School For the Exceptional Child

The School For the Exceptional Child, has once again benefitted from the support of the Seychelles Petroleum Company, SEYPEC, through the donation of a cheque worth SCR45,000 .

The cheque was handed over to Mrs Heidi Quatre, the Head Mistress of the School, at a friendly ceremony held today between the staff of the Seychelles Petroleum Company and staff and students of the School For the Exceptional Child. This is yet another humble gesture that the company showed to this institution to help carry out its mission for the welfare of the pupils.

Half of the amount remitted was the proceeds collected from visitors who participated in the activities at the SEYPEC stand during the recent National Show to commemorate Seychelles’ National Day. The petroleum company decided to top up the funds to the amount donated to the school.

SEYPEC adopted the School for the Exceptional Child in July 2015 to commemorate its 30th anniversary. Since then, all employees of the company have been enthusiastic about this project by providing a staunch support to all activities that have been organised to help the school.

“We at SEYPEC, deeply care about the welfare of the children at this school,’ SEYPEC Corporate and Human Resources Manager, Unice Romain stated. ‘We have always been and we remain fully committed to uplifting and improving the quality of life of the pupils and their teachers. We believe that our contribution can humbly help the school to bring some more wellness to the pupils and we spare no efforts when we have the opportunity to organize defining activities in their favour”.

During the past three years, staff members of SEYPEC have continuously accompanied the children in their quest to embrace better opportunities and to engage in various enriching activities. This journey to support a special cause is felt like a celebration for each employee of SEYPEC as a celebration of the uniqueness of every child.

This project is also considered as a way to raise awareness among the SEYPEC team on special needs and disabilities and on the need to cultivate a greater sense of philanthropy

The Head Mistress of the School, Mrs Heidi Quatre, expressed her gratitude towards all staff members of SEYPEC and termed the on-going partnership as ‘a true example of shared values for the recognition of every child immaterial of its physical or mental state.’

For his part, student Emmanuel Arrissol, delivered a very touchy note of thanks to the Seychelles Petroleum Company and its staff for their ongoing support to their well-being.
